OSSO Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement

No matter where you are on November 29, join OSSO in making a difference in the lives of orphans.

Orphanage Support Services Organization has joined Giving Tuesday to kick off the holiday season with the spirit of giving. We have participated in Giving Tuesday in the past and have been able to support orphans in Ecuador and Thailand because of others’ generosity. We are excited to be able to participate again in this global event for 2016.

Giving Tuesday harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. It is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday inspires people to collaborate in improving their local communities and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

OSSO seeks to create a two-way bridge for those who can and want to help and those who need help. No longer do you need to ask, “What can I do to give back this Christmas?” Participate in Giving Tuesday and raise funds for orphans!

Our goal this Giving Tuesday is to raise $500 for the orphans in Ecuador and Thailand. This money will be used to buy diapers and wipes, which are some of OSSO's biggest expenses. Wipes and disposable diapers are a great asset to an orphanage because sometimes, with so many children, workers and volunteers can't change each dirty diaper right away. Disposable diapers help reduce diaper rashes by being better at absorbing moisture than cloth diapers. Please consider helping our orphans be healthier and happier by contributing to our diapers-and-wipes fund!

We are also pleased to be partnering with Razoo, a crowdfunding platform, to collect our Giving Tuesday donations. As such, we are eligible for a lot of cash prizes! Help OSSO win these Giving Tuesday prizes by donating and spreading the word. The more donations we receive, the greater our likelihood of winning.

Thank you for your generosity and for helping to make OSSO possible!

We learned that orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names. They are easier to ignore before you see their faces. It is easier to pretend they’re not real before you hold them in your arms. But once you do, everything changes.

More About #GivingTuesday

#GivingTuesday is a movement to celebrate and provide incentives to give, and the 2016 iteration will be held on November 29, 2016. This effort harnesses the collective power of a unique blend of partners — nonprofits, businesses, and corporations as well as families and individuals — to transform how people think about, talk about and participate in the giving season.

#GivingTuesday inspires people to take collaborative action to improve their local communities; give back in better, smarter ways to the charities and causes they celebrate; and help create a better world. #GivingTuesday harnesses the power of social media to create a global moment dedicated to giving around the world.
